Orange County Maternity Photographer | Crystal's Session
A few weeks ago, I did a Maternity photo session for Crystal and Lucas. Crystal and I worked together a few years ago, and I was excited to learn that they were expecting their first little one.
Crystal showed up to our session looking unbelievably gorgeous, and the two were ready for photos! We started the session with some sweet shots of the two of them, and a few of Crystal alone, looking so peaceful and ready to meet her little one.
I had some ideas that I really wanted to incorporate with Crystal, and she was totally willing. I just added this amazing red maternity gown from Shop TaoPaN. I made a red floral crown to match. This was my first time doing something like this, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Stay tuned for another blog post soon, in which I'll show you how I made it!
Enjoy the photos and the Q&A from Crystal. Leave a comment to let me know what you think!
I asked Crystal to do a little Q & A with me, to feature here on the blog. Check out what she had to say about being pregnant, maternity photos, and her reaction to her photos.
1.How did you find out you were expecting?
I was going on a work trip and before I left had gone to the store to purchase some goodies for my upcoming visit from Aunt Flow. Well when I came home at the end of the week and was unpacking my bag I realized I hadn't used them. So I went to the store right away and purchased multiple tests!
2. How did you tell Lucas you were pregnant?
Unfortunately our house had suffered from a flood the day I arrived home. So little to say that I was trying to keep it a secret until Lucas got home from work, but it just spilled out in the heat of the moment. I did save the tests and put them in a cute wrapped up box for him for when he got home though!
3. How did pregnancy change you as a woman?
This is a tough one. I think I am finding out what is truly important again. As time goes and life changes different things in life become important to a person. Becoming pregnant and going through pregnancy really helped change my perspective to focus on the little person that I was growing.
4. What is one thing you find beautiful about being pregnant?
I think feeling the baby move. At first it was a flutter and intimidating to me. But over time the larger movements were beautiful. It meant a beautiful, healthy baby was growing!
5. What made you want to have maternity photos taken?
I wanted to be able to have something to look back on and to show our daughter how excited we were about her arrival. I hope that she will be able to feel the love we have for her through the photos.
6. What was your reaction when you first saw your photos?
I was speechless. The initial photo shared by Kari was beautiful. The second photo was breathtaking.
7. What advice do you have for someone who is debating whether or not to have maternity photos taken?
Get the photos. It is something that is nice to be able to look back on and see what your amazing body was capable of creating!
8. Anything else you want to share about your experience?
I had a hard pregnancy between morning sickness, anemia, and pains/swelling of the body. But seeing the photos helped show me how beautiful pregnancy is and to trust that our bodies are capable of more than we think they are. I am forever grateful for Kari helping us get our photos completed.
